Mirra Andreeva is in the fourth round at Wimbledon once again, matching her best campaign at the championships.

Andreeva defeated Hailey Baptiste in a straight-sets third-round victory, which saw her become the youngest player since Caroline Wozniacki to tally 10 or more wins at majors in a calendar year.

She is also now the fourth women’s player this century to make the round of 16 at the first three Grand Slams of a season before turning 19.

The 18-year-old will face 10th seed Emma Navarro in her next match, who knocked out defending champion Barbora Krejcikova.

It has been a chaotic tournament so far at Wimbledon, which Andreeva weighed in on following her triumph over the American.

Mirra Andreeva reflects on Wimbledon 2025 so far

In her post-match press conference, Andreeva said of the event: “It’s not really nice to see a lot of top players lose in the first and second rounds, but, you know, it’s tennis. Sometimes it can happen, and you know, there’s nothing you can do about it.

“So me, I was just trying to focus on myself. I didn’t have a thought that I don’t know, maybe it’s, like a curse or something that, you know, it can go after me.

“I was just focusing on myself, focusing on what I have to do on the court, and that’s what I’m gonna focus on until the end of the tournament.

“I’m just gonna try and be the best version of myself every match I play.”

On the draw being wide open, she said: “Honestly, I don’t know, for which reason, but I didn’t think about this. Maybe now I will, because of you [laughs].

“But yeah, I actually didn’t really think about it. I was just focused on winning matches, because last year I lost in the first round, singles and doubles.

“So I put all my focus on just, you know, trying to win more games and more matches and when I won my first round, my goal was just to go out there and win my second round to kind of improve my game and improve my results from last year.

“I think that’s what I’ve been putting my focus into, and that’s what I’m going to try to do next, and not to think about anything else, and I can say that so far it’s been a bit easier to put my focus into the right place.”

Mirra Andreeva’s potential route to the Wimbledon title

Andreeva leads the head-to-head record 1-0 with her fourth-round opponent, Navarro, having defeated her at the Cincinnati Open in 2024.

Should she emerge victorious against the US star, the Russian will face either Belinda Bencic or Ekaterina Alexandrova in the quarter-final.

A semi-final clash could see her against five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek, against whom she is undefeated this season.

By seeding, Andreeva’s most likely final opponent would be world number one Aryna Sabalenka, who herself is searching for a maiden Wimbledon title.
