Novak Djokovic has proven once again just why he has so many followers, both inside and outside the world of tennis.

The Serbian produced another stunning display to keep his French Open title hopes alive, with another comeback needed.

Djokovic needed to thank the crowd for giving him energy as he defeated Lorenzo Musetti 7-5, 6-7(6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 in round three, with that five-set clash ending at 3.07am.

And the world number one had to do it all again in the following round, this time against Francisco Cerundolo.

He did just that, with the Serb fighting off injury to clinch a 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory and secure a quarter-final spot.

Matthew McConaughey reacts to the latest Novak Djokovic win

Djokovic wowed fans with his determination, with high energy levels needed in the four hour and 39 minute match.

Just two nights prior, the Serb took four hours and 29 minutes to make it past Musetti at Roland Garros.

Among those fully appreciative of his fourth-round efforts was Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey, who took to social media to praise Djokovic’s spirit.

“The GOAT,” McConaughey wrote on X, tagging the world number one. “More than a mental machine.”

Will Novak Djokovic clinch another French Open title?

It would simply be foolish to write the Serbian off at this stage, with Djokovic showing he is clearly up for the fight.

He did, however, struggle with injury against Cerundolo, which will undoubtedly dominate the headlines ahead of his quarter-final tie.

But for now, the world of tennis has been left in awe at the 37-year-old, with both John McEnroe and Tim Henman blown away by his latest efforts.

Djokovic needs to reach at least the final at Roland Garros to keep his number one status after the competition, but that perhaps won’t be on his mind at this moment in time.

He can, however, celebrate another fantastic milestone, with the Serbian securing a record-breaking 370 Grand Slam match wins.
