Carlos Alcaraz has delighted the tennis world with his imminent return to the sport from injury.

Alcaraz’s wrist is reportedly completely healed, with the Spaniard set to play at the Cincinnati Open this time next month.

And that is welcome news to a handful of tennis legends, who have now shared their reactions to the Alcaraz update on social media.

ATP icon Boris Becker shared the injury update on X, accompanied by the message: “Finally some good news regarding the injury of Alcaraz!

“Hopefully he will be back for Cincinnati & US Open… fingers crossed!”

And sharing that post, WTA legend Martina Navratilova commented: Great news indeed!”

It is indeed a very welcome update regarding the Spaniard, who has not played a match since suffering his wrist injury at the Barcelona Open in April.

The Cincinnati Open is scheduled for mid-August, with the US Open set to get underway later in the month.

Carlos Alcaraz claimed to be fitter than ever before

Unsurprisingly, Becker and Navratilova are certainly not the only ones excited by Alcaraz coming back to tennis.

Among the others reacting to his update is Rick Macci, who is a former coach of WTA legend Serena Williams.

Macci posted on X: “The Spanish Magician will be locked, loaded and ready to launch when he steps on the court.

“The wrist is 100% and he has played many matches and practice sets with other pros. He has taken a negative and turned it into a positive and his fitness is even better than before.

“Just needs now to feel the heat in live combat and take the temperature on the key points. Magic show coming to a court near you soon.”

They have 2 each right now…

Alcaraz does indeed bring magic to the court more often than not, and that was certainly the case when he clinched the Cincinnati last year.

It was remarkably one of eight titles claimed by the ATP superstar, who also boasts two this season despite his injury.
