Marion Bartoli to coach Jeline Vandromme in Roland Garros qualifying

As per the Belgian Tennis Federation, one-time Grand Slam champion Bartoli will coach Jeline Vandromme during Roland Garros qualifying.

Belgian teenager Vandromme is currently ranked 179th on the WTA Tour, which is a career-high for the 18-year-old.

She has a career record of 84 wins and 32 losses, and is ranked 87th in the Roland Garros qualifying entry list.

A total of 16 players will reach the French Open main draw via qualifying, while eight wildcards will help complete the 128-strong field.

Vandromme is certainly not the only player involved in a high-profile coaching move concerning Belgian tennis.

Following his recent split with Iga Swiatek, Wim Fissette will start a trial period with Canadian youngster Victoria Mboko.

What did Marion Bartoli achieve on the WTA Tour?

Of course, Bartoli needs no introduction to tennis fans and specifically French tennis fans thanks to her amazing career.

She didn’t manage to win Roland Garros, with her semifinal run in 2011 representing her best finish on home soil.

But the French icon did emerge victorious at Wimbledon once upon a time, defeating Sabine Lisicki 6-1, 6-4 in the 2013 final.

The former WTA superstar finished her career with eight titles won and 490 match wins, having climbed as high as number seven in the world rankings.
