When was Serena Williams’ last match?
The final match of Williams’ illustrious career came at the 2022 US Open.
The former World Number One said she will be ‘evolving’ away from tennis after competing at her home slam that she won on six occasions.
She began her campaign by defeating Danka Kovinić inside a packed Arthur Ashe Stadium in straight sets.
In her biggest win of that year, Williams defeated second seed Anett Kontaveit 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 to reach round three.
But her campaign came to an end at the hands of Ajla Tomljanović, who held her nerve to clinch a three-set win over an emotional Williams, who addressed the crowd post match before waving farewell amid a standing ovation.
