A major injury update has now come to light on Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner ahead of the French Open.
Sinner romped to victory in Melbourne at the start of the year to win his first Grand Slam title.
He defeated Andrey Rublev, Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev en route to his maiden crown to defy the odds.
With the second Grand Slam edging ever closer, some news on the hip injury that Sinner recently sustained has come to light.

Report delivers update on Jannik Sinner injury
The French Open hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Sinner in the early stages of his professional career.
His best run at Roland Garros was a quarter-final in 2020 and he might have to wait to kick on at that particular tournament.
According to La Gazzetta, Sinner has now been advised by doctors to rest his hip in order to avoid it becoming chronic.
It’s now claimed in the piece that it’s very likely that Sinner will skip the French Open with a decision to come later in the week.
Sinner will have his full focus on the grass season if he does pull out and a hip problem isn’t something to be messed with.
Sinner wouldn’t have been heavily fancied at Roland Garros anyway
It’s hard to imagine that Sinner would have fancied winning the French Open given his record at the tournament.
In our view, that element might be doing some heavy lifting in his argument and he will want to avoid it becoming serious.
Sinner is only 22-years-old and he could really do without developing a serious problem with something like his hip.
Any emerging player on the circuit only needs to look in the direction of Andy Murray to see how troublesome an issue with a hip can be.
He’s had numerous operations and now has a metal hip, with his career set to end this year.
One man who could benefit from this decision is Novak Djokovic.
He needs to reach the final of the French Open and that will ensure he remains at the top of the world rankings for a little while longer – with Sinner hot on his tail.
