Madison Keys fought back to beat Elina Svitolina to reach her third Australian Open semi-final.
Keys had been surprised by Elina Svitolina’s game ahead of the match, but managed to come from a set down to beat the Ukrainian.
This has extended her winning streak to 10 matches after Keys won the Adelaide title.
The American has been involved in some eye-catching matches, with Keys commenting on Danielle Collins being booed by the Australian Open crowd ahead of their third round meeting.
Keys will now play her third Australian Open semi-final after reaching her first as a teenager in 2015.
Madison Keys reveals what the ‘new rule’ she has with Frances Tiafoe
Despite having a good relationship with her fellow American, Keys and Frances Tiafoe have their differences.
When speaking about Tiafoe in her post-match press conference, Keys revealed that he used to message her in the latter stages of a major tournament before being knocked out.
As a result, Keys has put a ban on Tiafoe sending her a text during this year’s Australian Open.
“No, I probably won’t text him,” said Keys. “We have this kind of joke where in the past he wouldn’t say anything pre-tournament or anything, and then he would text me, like, in the quarters or the semis or something, and I would lose the next round.
“So we have this new rule. Like I saw him a few days ago, and I said, Don’t text me, I don’t want to hear from you at all, just leave me alone and we’ll talk after the tournament (smiling).”

Keys broke onto the WTA Tour at an early age, winning her first tour-level match at just 14-years-old against Alla Kudryavtseva at the Ponte Vedra Beach Championships.
The now 29-year-old has won nine career titles, a career-high ranking of world number seven and reached the US Open final in 2017.
After reaching her seventh major semi-final at the Australian Open, Keys has spoken about her longevity in the sport.
“I mean, it feels great,” said Keys. “Starting as young as I did, I don’t know if I would have, you know, had the full awareness that I was going to be here 16 years later. But I think it’s a really great era of tennis right now because you can still be playing some of your best tennis as 30 is approaching and even past that.
“I mean, even today Elina was playing fantastic tennis. She was another one that I played juniors with her, and we both kind of went pro really early. There’s just so many players now that into their 30s they’re playing some really great tennis. I think it’s really nice to see all of these people that I played juniors with that we’re still out here.”
Keys will play Iga Swiatek, who beat Emma Navarro, for a place in the Australian Open final on Thursday January 23.
