Lorenzo Musetti continues his quest for a spot at the ATP Finals by taking on this week’s Hellenic Championship.
Musetti’s ATP Finals spot is in jeopardy, with the Italian currently occupying ninth place in the Race to Turin.
He lost his opening match at the Paris Masters, with other ATP Finals candidate Felix Auger-Aliassime reaching the final.
He lost to Jannik Sinner in the final of the Paris Masters, with Auger-Aliassime deciding to skip the Metz Open after his superb run in France.
That decision could work in the favor of Musetti, who meets veteran Stan Wawrinka in his opening match in Athens.

While there is still plenty to play for in 2025, the Italian has already turned one eye to 2026 by appointing Jose Perlas as his new coach.
As reported by Spazio Tennis, Perlas will work alongside Musetti’s longtime coach Simone Tartarini, having recently ended his work with ATP number 115 Dusan Lajovic.
Musetti, who is ninth in the ATP rankings, will welcome Perlas to his team during his winter training camp in Monte Carlo.

As well as having worked with Lajovic, Perlas has partnered with the likes of Janko Tipsarevic and Fabio Fognini.
The Spaniard also collaborated with his compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero, while he helped Carlos Moya win the French Open in 1998 and reach number one in the world rankings.
With Perlas having also guided Spain to two Davis Cup titles, it looks set to be a very smart decision from 23-year-old Musetti, who has two ATP titles to his name so far.
Both of those titles did, however, arrive back in 2022, with a return to success in 2026 very much on the cards under the expert guidance of Perlas.
For now, however, Musetti has an important task on his hands in trying to qualify for the ATP Finals later this month.
He should be desperate to join his compatriot Sinner on home soil in Turin, but legendary figure Wawrinka first stands in his way.
