Lorenzo Musetti is among the ATP players looking to challenge the dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner and Alcaraz have been the biggest threats in men’s tennis for some time, typified by the fact that they have combined to win nine of the last 10 Grand Slam titles.
Alexander Zverev finally broke the streak at the French Open, where Sinner lost in the second round and Alcaraz was absent because of injury.
Musetti also missed the Grand Slam because of injury, with the Italian now set to join Alcaraz on the sidelines for Wimbledon as well.
He has, however, taken time to analyze the leading ATP superstars, suggesting which of the two he prefers to watch.

Lorenzo Musetti picks between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
Having played with the biggest current stars in tennis, Musetti was asked by L’Officiel which of their games fascinates him the most.
Translated from Italian, he said: “The most beautiful and complete tennis?
“Perhaps the one played by Alcaraz; I think it’s the most contemporary tennis.
“Sure, Jannik is impressive; he’s almost perfect in terms of composure, mental clarity, and consistently maintaining an incredible standard, but in terms of aesthetics, the beauty of the game, I’d say Alcaraz.
“When they’re at their best, they’re the two champions who represent the best tennis today.”
It’s certainly an intriguing debate, especially given their thrilling head-to-head, which Alcaraz currently leads 10-7.

Lorenzo Musetti shares Novak Djokovic admiration when recalling the best match of his career
Unfortunately the epic rivalry has been brought to a halt by Alcaraz’s injury, with a wrist issue ruling the Spaniard out of the entire grass-court swing.
But also experiencing real difficulty in that area is Musetti, who has not competed since suffering a thigh injury in Rome in mid-May.
However, the world number 15 has plenty to look forward to when he does make his return, while he has already hit great heights in his impressive career.
Looking back on his best match and the one that makes him suffer the most, the Italian said: “If by best you mean the most important, I’d say when I won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics against [Felix] Auger-Aliassime, even if it wasn’t my best match from a tennis standpoint.
“But in terms of importance, maybe that was it.
“The one that gave me the most satisfaction?
“When I beat Novak Djokovic at the Monte Carlo Masters in 2023.
“He was world number one at the time, a player I’ve always admired since I was a kid.
“The most painful defeat?
“Again against Nole, earlier this year at the Australian Open, when I was winning 2 sets to 0 and then had to retire due to injury.”
How would you rate Novak Djokovic’s chances of winning Wimbledon?
Along with his bronze medal from Paris 2024, Musetti boasts two ATP titles, both of which arrived in 2022 in Hamburg and Naples.
He’s also climbed as high as fifth in the world rankings, with the 24-year-old rapidly approaching 200 career wins.
