Laura Robson reckons she knows the surface Mirra Andreeva is most likely to win a Grand Slam on.

The teenrager is in the form of her life after becoming the youngest woman to win a WTA 1000 title.

Andreeva overcame the challenge of Clara Tauson to win the second title of her young career and certainly the biggest one yet.

Her 7-5, 6-1 victory ensures that she is the newest entrant into the WTA Tour’s top 10 and she is the first 17-year-old to break into this elite group since Nicole Vaidisova in 2007.

Laura Robson says the Grand Slam Mirra Andreeva is most likely to win is the French Open

Mirra Andreeva has shown her capabilities on multiple surfaces, especially hard courts and clay courts.

The Russian illustrated this by winning on clay at the Iasi Open in July, before securing the biggest title of her career in Dubai on hard courts.

Andreeva has won 60 of her 74 matches on clay, giving her an impressive win percentage of 81%. Therefore, commentator Laura Robson thinks the French Open may be Andreeva’s best chance of success at Grand Slam level and is eager to see what she does in Paris this summer.

“Andreeva is still only 17, but I feel like we have known her for a long time already,” she wrote in her Sky Sports column.

“We’re just waiting for that super special Grand Slam result from her, and it feels like this is the year for it.

“I think clay is an incredible surface for her, it allows her to show off her movement and what a great athlete she is. Let’s see what happens in Paris!”

What is Mirra Andreeva’s French Open record?

Andreeva has entered the French Open on just two occasions in her career so far.

On her debut in 2023, the teenager reached the third round where she was defeated by Coco Gauff in three sets.

In 2024, Andreeva achieved the best grand Slam result of her career, when she defeated Aryna Sabalenka on the way to making the French Open semi-finals.

Though it is a small sample size, Andreeva has won seven of her nine matches at the clay court major, giving her a win percentage of 78%.
