Katie Boulter said something to embarrass her boyfriend Alex de Minaur after she lifted silverware in San Diego over the weekend.

The Great Britain player was speaking on the court after being handed her new title.

So, what did Boulter say to embarrass De Minaur shortly after lifting her second career title? Let’s take a closer look…

What Katie Boulter said about Alex de Minaur after winning San Diego title

Well, it would appear as though she was keen to let everyone know what her other half did in order to see her match.

Boulter defeated Ukrainian player Marta Kostyuk 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 to lift her first ATP 500 title. Afterwards, the happiness was etched all over her face.

After the match, she was quizzed on her boyfriend being in the crowd and he looked somewhat embarrassed watching on.

Boulter told the media: “I want to say a small special thank you to my boyfriend. He finished last night at midnight and I really want to embarrass him so he got a 4:15am taxi this morning and a flight to be here today. I do appreciate it.”

Boulter and De Minaur can drive each other on

This is a big win for Leicester-born Boulter and ultimately she is a player firmly on an upward trajectory.

She’s now moved into the top 30 in the world and will have her sights set on the top 16.

In our view, it does Boulter no harm at all by being in a relationship with De Minaur. The pair will push each other to be better and that can only bode well.

The Great Britain ace is playing some brilliant tennis at the moment and it will be fascinating to see how she gets on at Indian Wells next week.
