Juan Carlos Ferrero, despite departing the tennis world earlier this year, remains relentless in his efforts to stay relevant.
It seems strange that he is so open and forthright about his plans for the future, considering he remains the coach of Ángel Ayora, a young golfer.
And now, speaking live on DAZN just last night, the former tutor of Carlos Alcaraz has emerged to deliver yet another twist in the tale that is his coaching career.

Ferrero has been completely unpredictable since his split with the world number one, which rocked the tennis world late last year.
It came completely out of nowhere and led many to fear for Alcaraz’s prospects in the months that followed.

It’s ironic how quickly he put those worries to bed.
For Ferrero though, question marks still remain over whether he will return to tennis after pivoting to golf recently.
He has only added fuel to the fire with his latest comments, as he claimed: “I’ve got new challenges ahead. Right now I’m working with Ángel (Ayora), but there could be surprises between now and the end of the year.”
What players could hire Juan Carlos Ferrero?
Given the fact that Ferrero revealed he has received offers from players since his split from Alcaraz, from both ATP and WTA players, it’s anybody’s guess who he might coach next.
After all, few would have predicted that he would have pivoted to golf after his time working with his compatriot, making him an unpredictable commodity.
Emma Raducanu remains without a long-term coach and could certainly benefit from Ferrero’s knowledge on how to breed a champion.

Meanwhile, Ben Shelton is another young ATP star who could benefit from some outside counsel after so many years with just his father as his coach.
And, interestingly, last year Rennae Stubbs even spoke about Taylor Fritz’s coaching situation, admitting: “I think maybe it’s time for him to look for a new coach.”
These options just scratch the surface for Ferrero.
