Wimbledon is underway and for Andy Murray fans there is still a waiting game over whether their man will play in the men’s singles.
Murray was forced out of his Queen’s second-round match against Jordan Thompson with a back problem.
An assessment showed a spinal cyst and he’s been forced to have a procedure ahead of his final Wimbledon which has altered his preparation.
Murray is a two-time winner at Wimbledon and it would be desperately sad if he didn’t get to retire having received applause from Centre Court one final time.
Now, a respected tennis journalist has delivered his verdict based on Murray’s final practice session before he’s due to play tomorrow.

Everything is crossed from a fan perspective that Murray can take the court to face Tomas Machac tomorrow.
Stuart Fraser has been covering tennis for The Times for a number of years and he’s now delivered his verdict on the 37-year-old’s participation.
Murray has been in action practising against Kyle Edmund today, with Fraser watching on from the side of the court.
Speaking on Murray’s chance of playing – he seemed extremely confident that he would be ready to go tomorrow afternoon.
He said on X: “Andy Murray’s crucial practice match comes to an end with a 6-3, 2-0 lead over Kyle Edmund. The movement is better for sure. My instinct is that he is going to play singles tomorrow but we wait to hear.”
Murray deserves raucous send-off at Wimbledon
It seems very likely that Murray will be scheduled to play on Centre Court tomorrow if he is indeed fit to play.
Whether you’re a fan of Murray as a person, it’s hard to deny the quality that he’s brought to tennis during his wonderful career.
In terms of the discussion for the greatest British sportsperson of all time, Murray has to be in the mix to sit right at the top of the list.
As a result, he deserves one last year playing at Wimbledon and it would be quite something if he could win at least one match.
In terms of his opponent, he couldn’t really have asked for much better.
Machac has a dreadful record at Wimbledon and has never won a match at SW19 in the singles.
He is currently the 36th best player in the world according to the rankings but it will definitely be a match that Murray will feel he can do well in.
