John McEnroe has named the player that he thinks has the best forehand in tennis after seeing him at the French Open today.
The Roland Garros spectacle is now in full swing – despite the weather doing its best job of putting a dampener on things.
So far, the big seeds in the men’s draw have made it through and it promises to be a brilliant second week at the moment.
One man who prevailed earlier today was Stefanos Tsitsipas who came through in four sets against the German player Daniel Altmaier.
Now, McEnroe has delivered an intriguing verdict on the 25-year-old star.

The man who won seven Grand Slam titles is currently doing commentary from Roland Garros for Eurosport.
He was on hand earlier to talk about Tstisipas after he came through a tricky match to reach the last 32.
McEnroe is a huge fan of the Greek player and he believes that he’s a serious contender to win the prize next week.
He said live on Eurosport: “It turns out clay is the best surface for Tsitsipas. He’s had some runs here, been a finalist and he’s won in Monte Carlo a couple of times.
“He should have the belief to go deep into this event.
“The backhand is the issue for him, his forehand is formidable – one of the best in the game – maybe the best, it’s certainly up there.”
Tstisipas can win if he controls mental side of his game
The talented player has lots of time on his side to get over the line and win a Grand Slam event.
However, his temperament has come into question previously and he will need to control that element to win Roland Garros.
Tsitsipas has reached two Grand Slam finals; at Roland Garros in 2021 and at the Australian Open in 2023.
Wimbledon and the US Open haven’t been happy hunting grounds for Tsitsipas and McEnroe might be right that this surface gives him his best chance.
Tsitsipas knows all the shots but it’s the mental side of the game that he will need to conquer if he’s to win his first Grand Slam this year.
