USA tennis star Coco Gauff was once again in fine form this afternoon during her second-round match at Wimbledon.
She defeated Romanian player Anca Todoni 6-2, 6-1 in no time at all and can now look forward to the third round of the competition.
Arriving as the world’s number two best player, Gauff will undoubtedly feel that she can go all the way this year.
Wimbledon is where the world first got introduced to Gauff when she famously beat Venus Williams as a teenager back in 2019.
Now, she’s progressed at such a rate that in the eyes of many she is the outstanding favourite to lift the title at Wimbledon this year.
John McEnroe knows what it takes to win a title or three at Wimbledon and he’s shared why he thinks Gauff has a better chance this year than in any other.

This all boils down – in the eyes of McEnroe – to Gauff thinking like and ultimately becoming a winner.
Gauff got her first Grand Slam title at last year’s US Open and this year she looks far more relaxed when she takes to the court.
Sporting a new blonde hair colour, Gauff has blown away her two opponents so far and McEnroe believes he knows why she’s playing better.
He told BBC Sport: “Coco clearly winning that major was a big stress reliever, she’s three or four years into her career. That’s how I felt at Wimbledon, I was 18 and I thought my game was perfect for Wimbledon and each year that went by that I didn’t win it the more pressure, more frustration I felt and it was a terrible combination.
“That’s what was happening a little bit with Coco for the first four years until she won a Grand Slam. She’s one of the top couple of girls who could win this tournament this year.”
Gauff can go all the way at Wimbledon this year
At 20-years-old, it’s fair to say that Gauff doesn’t have to go all the way at Wimbledon this year.
If it proves not to be her year then there will be a few more tournaments in the future for her to look forward to.
It does feel inevitable that Gauff can get her hands on the Wimbledon title at some point and ticking that first one off will be all-important.
It’s been a stunning start to the tournament this year for Gauff and she does look a lot more relaxed than she did last year.
Gauff reached the semi-final of the French Open before losing to world number one Iga Swiatek and also reached the same stage at the Berlin Grass Court Championships.
Of all the top players so far, however, Gauff has caught the eye at Wimbledon and her composed approach could help her go all the way in the coming weeks.
