John McEnroe and Nick Kyrgios have provided great entertainment at Wimbledon this year, as a couple of colourful and iconic commentators.
They have sought to laugh, joke, analyse and criticise, but in the end, always offer something of value to the listener.
However, when it came to combing over Novak Djokovic’s recent match, they were both left stunned.
He comfortably dispatched the 21-year-old Holger Rune with ease, winning in straight sets.
It seems that, despite his pre-tournament fears after Djokovic’s injury scare emerged, there was nothing really to worry about.

Whilst the two pundits have likely disagreed on plenty during their time together in the commentary booth, they were unsurprisingly united by the brilliance of Djokovic.
After all, they were witnessing a masterclass from the 24-time Grand Slam champion, and sought to emphasise that whilst speaking on BBC Sport.
McEnroe went first, noting: ‘I actually feel like he’s playing great. He is looking like he’s on it and is looking like Novak Djokovic to me.’
However, Kyrgios would go one further, even send a message to those who might have doubted him before his demolition of Rune: ‘He is getting better as the tournament goes on. Some were saying that he hasn’t been tested earlier in the tournament and Holger Rune was going to be his first test. And here we are. All those people are pretty quiet right now.
‘There were a couple of people on ESPN telling me that it was going to be Holger Rune’s day and I was just saying we’ll see about that one.’
Novak Djokovic is tearing up the rulebook at Wimbledon
It is quite remarkable what we are witnessing with Djokovic at the moment, who continues to prove absolutely everybody wrong at every turn.
After all, there is likely not a player in tennis history who could tear the meniscus in their knee, get surgery on it, and then travel to play at Wimbledon less than a month later.
Let alone reach the quarter-finals.
Alex de Minaur is next up, and his all-action and energetic style might prove too much for the 37-year-old.
However, people said the same about Rune, and the Serbian made them look foolish.
This promises to be his first outstanding test, especially given the form of the Australian star in 2024, but to discount him is impossible.
At Wimbledon, and throughout his entire career, he has consistently torn up the rule book and replaced it with his own legacy. A truly generational athlete.
