At 22, Carlos Alcaraz has won all four Grand Slam titles…

Completing the final piece of the puzzle in Melbourne, Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 in the 2026 Australian Open final.

In doing so, he became the youngest man to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Alcaraz was impressive from start to finish at the Australian Open, winning his seventh major title.

During Channel 9’s Australian Open coverage, Jim Courier sent Alcaraz a message immediately after the match.

Watching Djokovic and Alcaraz meet at the net, Courier shared his thoughts on the match.

“Warm embrace for the 10-time champ,” he said.

“[Carlos] Alcaraz joins him in the short list of men who have done everything in majors.”

Courier then suggested what may have given Alcaraz the edge in the final.

“Alcaraz was the fresher man, the younger man,” he said.

“Got a little helping hand from Jannik Sinner in the semifinals.”

Jannik Sinner pushed Djokovic all the way in a five-set classic on Friday, leaving him fatigued for Sunday’s final.

“Incredible match, incredible tournament, and what an athlete.

“Carlos Alcaraz, congratulations.”

The win cements Alcaraz’s legacy among the greats of men’s tennis.

But just how many more Grand Slam titles will he win?

Carlos Alcaraz needs 18 more Grand Slams to beat Novak Djokovic’s record

Alcaraz is now a seven-time major champion, but he has a long way to go before he can even think about taking Djokovic’s record.

Who finishes their career on more majors – Alcaraz or Djokovic?

The Serb has won 24 Grand Slams, leaving Alcaraz with serious work to do.

But it shouldn’t be forgotten that Alcaraz is just 22 years old.

At 22, Djokovic had only won one Slam, the 2008 Australian Open.

If Alcaraz can play for as long as Djokovic has and continue picking up Slam titles well into his 30s, then he may well have a shot at breaking the record.

Only time will tell if Alcaraz will win more Slams than Djokovic, but it will certainly be something to keep an eye on over the next decade or so.
