Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka continued their exciting rivalry on the WTA Tour in 2025, where they met four times.
And Sabalenka certainly continued her dominance in their WTA head-to-head record, winning three of those matches.
She extended her career record against Pegula to 9-3 after winning at the Miami Open, US Open and WTA Finals.
The American won their battle in Wuhan, but has generally struggled to get anything from her clashes with the Belarusian.

Despite the negative head-to-head record, Pegula has really enjoyed her recent meetings with the world number one.
Asked on The Player’s Box Podcast for one of her favorite matches she’s played well but lost, Pegula replied: “I feel like I’ve had so many of them.
“Honestly a lot of my recent matches with Aryna have been really good matches, like levels just super high, and you lose but you feel like… you don’t feel that bad afterwards, because you’re like, wow, that was a really high-level match, like I had chances, whatever, but you feel like you put your best self out there.
“So I would say, just off of brief memory, honestly most of my matches with Aryna over the last two years. I always come off the court feeling like that.”

Also responding to the question was Pegula’s fellow American Madison Keys, who recalled a round of 16 clash with Jasmine Paolini in 2024.
She said: “My match against Jasmine at Wimbledon was like very fun until it wasn’t. So maybe that one I guess.
“It was an unbelievable atmosphere, the roof was closed, so it was even louder and everything, super fun. And then I walked off in tears. So that part wasn’t super fun, but up until then, great time.”

Such honesty from American stars Pegula and Keys is refreshing, with the duo reminding fans that losing isn’t always the end of the world.
They’ve enjoyed superb careers despite the setbacks, with both players currently ranked within the WTA top 10.
World number six Pegula is a nine-time WTA winner, while world number seven Keys boasts 10 titles, including the 2025 Australian Open.
