Jessica Pegula is set to compete in a tournament for the first time in her career.

The new World number three commenced her clay court season by winning the Charleston Open for the first time.

Now she is ready to take on the red clay in Europe for the first time since 2023, after missing this portion of the season in 2024 due to injury.

For 2025 Jessica Pegula has chosen to add Germany’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix to her schedule, where she will try to continue her winning run.

What does Jessica Pegula think of the court and conditions in Stuttgart?

Pegula has arrived at Germany’s Stuttgart Open with plenty of momentum following her victory in Charleston.

After missing the European clay court season a year ago, the 31-year-old is thrilled to have the chance to compete this season, so much so that she has added a new event to her schedule.

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is pleased to have Pegula play the tournament for the first time and she is impressed by what she has seen so far.

“I’ve been wanting to play the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for a long time,” Pegula told reporters. “I feel good and ready to go. And if I’m feeling really good, I like to take advantage of it.

“It’s definitely one of the nicer tournaments on Tour. Everything is at a very high level, well organised and the Centre Court is beautiful. The court is pretty slick, pretty fast – it’s different.

“I didn’t get to play the clay swing last year. I’m coming in fresh and don’t have anything to defend and it’s always a good feeling.”

Will Jessica Pegula play doubles with Coco Gauff in Stuttgart?

Pegula and Coco Gauff formed a successful doubles partnership for two years.

During this time they won four titles, three of them WTA 1000 events, and reached the French Open final as well as two other WTA 1000 finals.

But the American pair have not teamed together since the 2024 Paris Olympics, and they will not play doubles together in Stuttgart.

In fact, Pegula, who will play doubles with Desirae Krawczyk in Germany, is unsure when she will play doubles with Gauff again.

“Coco and I played so much for a couple of years there. We did great. A lot of really amazing results and memories,” Pegula explained.

“At the same time, doing well in the singles court, we obviously didn’t want to play as much anymore.”
