Jannik Sinner suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the Roland Garros final to rival Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner was unable to take his chances against Alcaraz, despite having three championship points to win Roland Garros for the first time.
After battling for five hours and 29 minutes on Court Philippe-Chatrier, Alcaraz and Sinner’s match has been labelled one of the greatest Grand Slam finals of all time.
That is not the only consolation for Sinner, who has also been praised for what he did after his defeat to Alcaraz.

Rennae Stubbs tells Jannik Sinner what he can learn from Carlos Alcaraz
Someone else who was left in awe of the level shown in the final between Alcaraz and Sinner is former doubles world number one Rennae Stubbs.
When Stubbs, who helped coach Serena Williams at her final tournament, spoke on her latest podcast about how Sinner would benefit from bringing more variety into his game like Alcaraz.
“The beauty of clay was displayed so incredibly well in these two finals,” said Stubbs. “Getting one more ball back in the court makes a big difference on clay and variety.
“I think that is where Jannik, if there is one thing he can take away from it, it’s just getting a little bit more variety, maybe he can implement a drop shot.
“I think that is what Carlos did really well on some big occasions. He threw in that exceptional forehand drop shot at times where I was like are you kidding me?
“Jannik does not hit it as much. Maybe that is something he can implement on clay if he wants to beat Carlos.”
