Jannik Sinner shared his thoughts on the Olympics final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.
The pair produced one of the greatest gold medal tennis matches as they fought to win the prestigious title for the first time.
After two extremely tight sets, it was Djokovic who prevailed 7-6(3), 7-6(2) to become Olympic champion, an honour that had eluded him throughout his career.
In the process he became just the fifth player to have won all four Grand Slams and the Olympic gold medal, which is known as the golden slam.

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz both stormed into the Olympics final without dropping a set. They faced each other for the seventh time and it came less than a month after they contested the Wimbledon final.
The Spaniard was considered the favourite given his imperious form, but it was Djokovic who produced arguably his best performance of the season to become Olympic champion.
Jannik Sinner, who did not compete at the Olympic Games, reacted to the spectacle that took place on Court Philippe Chatrier on Monday.
“I watched a little bit because in the beginning I was practicing,” said the Italian, who is now in Canada preparing for the Montreal Open. “When I came back, I watched the whole second set and it was a very high level match.
“I think everyone agrees with that, it was a very physical match and when two of the best players in the world face each other at the moment they are producing something very special.
“It was a pleasure to watch this kind of match, I think everyone of us really enjoyed it, this kind of level we don’t see every day.”
Why did Jannik Sinner not compete at the Paris Olympics?
Sinner was one of several players that did not represent their country at the Paris Olympic Games.
The World number one was due to participate, but he made a late withdrawal from the competition after suffering a bout of tonsillitis.
Taking to social media platform X to explain his decision to pull out, Sinner said: “I am saddened to inform you that unfortunately I will not be able to participate in the Paris Olympic Games.
He continued: “After a good week of clay training I started to feel unwell. I spent a couple of days resting and during a visit the doctor found tonsillitis and strongly advised me against playing.”
“It was one of my main goals for this season. I couldn’t wait to have the honour of representing my country in this very important event. Good luck to all the Italian athletes who I will support from home.”
