Jannik Sinner booked his place in the semifinals of the China Open for the third straight year after beating Fabian Marozsan in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5.
The Hungarian was close to forcing a decisive third set against Sinner, but tallied a number of unforced errors to allow the Italian to finish the job in two.
In the final four, the world number two will go toe-to-toe with Alex de Minaur, against whom he boasts a dominant 10-0 head-to-head record.
After claiming his 40th victory of the year against Marozsan, Sinner suggested the Australian will have an advantage when they clash for the 11th time.

Jannik Sinner says he wants to end the season on a high
Sinner has enjoyed another great season on the ATP Tour, adding two more Grand Slam titles to his name, and now wants to finish on a high.
“Confidence is also very important in our game,” he explained. “So let’s see how I’m going to finish, but considering the amount of tournaments I’ve played and winning so many matches, it’s great for me, it’s great for our team, and we try to build on that.
“Today I was very aggressive from the back of the court, trying to go a bit more to the net, which worked very well.
“It was very difficult today because you know that we were playing very fast so difficult to change pace, but generally very happy about today’s performance and let’s see what’s coming, but again, great to be in the semis.”
As well as clinching two titles, Sinner has made four finals in 2025, losing to his rival, Carlos Alcaraz, in each of them.
