Jannik Sinner is just two wins away from becoming the eighth man in history to complete the Sunshine Double.
Sinner dominated Frances Tiafoe in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, to book his place in the semifinals of the Miami Open.
The Italian, in pursuit of his seventh ATP Masters title, has yet to drop a set throughout both campaigns in Indian Wells and Miami.

His next opponent at the second Masters tournament of the season will come in the form of either world number four Alexander Zverev or 18th seed Francisco Cerundolo.
After his win over Tiafoe, Sinner was asked who he would rather play in the semifinals.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the world number two said: “Today was a different match because I started strong right away and served very well. The conditions were different; it was very hot.
“I can be pleased with this performance. Now we rest and try to be ready for tomorrow.”
Sinner was then asked about Zverev and Cerundolo, and replied: “They’re two totally different players.

“In these semifinal matches you feel the weight of the match so I try to stay focused on my game and play good tennis. I try to control what I can control.”
Sinner has a winning record against both Zverev and Cerundolo, leading the German 7-4 in the head-to-head and the Argentine 4-2.

Since bowing out in the third round of the 2025 Shanghai Masters, Sinner has not lost a match at Masters level.
Not only that, but he has failed to drop a set in his last three ATP Masters 1000 campaigns, going flawless in Paris, Indian Wells, and so far, Miami.
He has not had to face his great rival, Carlos Alcaraz, in any of those runs, however, and he won’t have to come up against the Spaniard in Miami after his early exit.
Sinner has won 30 consecutive sets at Masters events, and now needs just four more to complete the Sunshine Double.
