Jannik Sinner knows exactly what he needs to do to try and win Wimbledon for the first time.
The Italian is set to compete at the All-England Club for the first time as the ATP’s highest ranked player.
He had the best possible preparation for the tournament by beating Hubert Hurkacz to claim the Halle Open on Sunday.
Sinner has previously reached as far as the semi-finals at Wimbledon, but he has made significant improvements over the past year and is now a top contender for the crown.
Jannik Sinner explains what he must change about his game to win Wimbledon
The 22-year-old claimed his first grass court title on Sunday and is now practicing at Wimbledon ahead of his fourth appearance at the tournament.
The majority of Sinner’s success has come on hard courts and he has had to make adjustments to sart becoming a threat on other surfaces.
In order to succeed at the grass court major, Sinner outlined some more tweaks that he needs to make to his game.
“I can be a little more aggressive, understand better how to move,” he told La Repubblica. “It will be a difficult tournament, but also fun. I like Wimbledon: last year I played well and only lost in the semi-final. Let’s see what I can do this year.
“I hope to do a good preparation and then we will see how it goes: I will do my best. We are all excellent players and there can always be some surprises in a tournament like Wimbledon.”

Who did Jannik Sinner beat to win his first grass court title?
One thing that can boost Sinner’s chances of winning Wimbledon is the fact that he now knows how to win titles on grass.
The Halle Open was Sinner’s first tournament as the World number one and his nerves showed as he needed three sets to defeat Tallon Griekspoor, Fábián Marozsán and Jan-Lennard Struff.
Sinner then beat Zhang Zhizhen 6-4, 7-6 in the semi-finals before taking on the dangerous Hurkacz in the championship match. It is no surprise the match went to two tiebreak sets and Sinner triumphed in both to win the title.
“It was different, yes, you can feel the extra pressure,” Sinner said about playing as the World number one for the first time.
“Everyone wants to beat you in every game you play because you are No 1, but then when you step onto the pitch you don’t think about it, you only think about playing and winning.”
