It’s been a whirlwind year for Jannik Sinner and now he will be hoping to end 2024 in some style by matching a Roger Federer feat.
The Italian’s season started in style when he claimed a Grand Slam prize for the first time by winning the Australian Open.
Sinner reached the semi-final at the French Open and was then suffering with fatigue as he bowed out of Wimbledon at the quarter-final stage.
The Italian roared back to form, however, by beating Taylor Fritz to claim his second Grand Slam and win the US Open back in August.
It will soon be time for Sinner to compete in the end-of-season ATP Finals in Turin and he will hope to avenge last season’s defeat in the final to Novak Djokovic.
Sinner has won 17 singles titles during his career and now he’s on the verge of ending 2024 with a very impressive record.

Sinner has some way to go in order to match the silverware haul that Federer achieved during an amazing career.
The Swiss superstar won eight Wimbledon crowns during his career and right now that record remains intact with Djokovic trying to close him down.
Sinner is now on the cusp, however, of doing something that no tennis player has managed since Federer in 2005.
With the ATP Tour Finals and the Davis Cup left to play this season, Sinner still hasn’t been defeated in straight sets during 2024.
That is a quite remarkable record and it shows how hard it is to achieve given that nobody has done it since Federer managed it in 2005.
Sinner will now be hoping to end the season on a high and it’s fair to say that 2024 will be one that goes down as a breakthrough year for the Italian player.

Sinner will enjoy tennis dominance during his career
In 2024, Sinner shared the four major crowns with Carlos Alcaraz and that rivalry looks set to be a big one in the future.
The Italian has grown as a player during the year and although he’s had some off-the-court stuff to deal with, he’s let the tennis do his talking largely.
Sinner will hope to finish with a flourish at the ATP Tour Finals and doing what nobody has done since Federer in 2005 will surely be on his mind.
Next year could be another big one for the 23-year-old performer and as the overwhelming world number one, he will enter every tournament truly believing he can claim victory.
