Jannik Sinner capped off a faultless ATP Finals campaign with a straight sets win over Taylor Fritz to clinch the title.

The Italian delivered a performance of remarkable dominance to secure the ATP Finals title in Turin.

Jannik Sinner showcased unrelenting precision throughout the week, never once dropping a set in his five matches.

Sinner also demonstrated formidable consistency, never conceding more than four games in any of the ten sets he played this week.

Having beaten Taylor Fritz in the group stages 6-4, 6-4 with two clinical breaks, the final ended up taking more or less an identical trajectory.

Winning by the exact same scoreline, the world number one notched up his 70th win of the year, becoming the first man to win 70 matches in a single season since Andy Murray in 2016.

Jannik Sinner matches Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer record

The 23-year-old’s season has been nothing short of historic, with the ATP Finals his eight title of the year.

After claiming two Grand Slam titles to bookend the calendar, Sinner’s latest five wins in Turin improve his record on hard courts this year to 50-3.

By dominating both hard-court Grand Slams and securing the ATP Finals crown, he has joined an elite club of players.

His consistency and dominance across these prestigious tournaments evoke comparisons with the greats who achieved the same feat before him.

Sinner becomes the third man in history to win the Australian Open, US Open, and the ATP Finals in a single season, joining Roger Federer (2006, 2007) and Novak Djokovic (2015, 2023).

Djokovic managed to complete the hat-trick last year again by beating Sinner in the final, after having lost to him in the group stage.

Jannik Sinner will be desperate to defend his Australian Open

Sinner is entering the 2025 Australian Open as the favorite to defend his title, buoyed by incredible late-season form.

Since mid-August, he has lost only once, mirroring his dominant run at the close of 2023.

That stretch included his first Masters 1000 title in Canada, back-to-back wins at the China and Vienna Opens, and a runner-up finish at the ATP Finals before leading Italy to a historic Davis Cup triumph.

These achievements set the stage for his Melbourne heroics, where he captured his maiden Grand Slam after rallying from two sets down in the final.

Now, with his game at an even higher level and riding an unmatched wave of momentum, Sinner is well-positioned to retain his crown.

While everyone will be desperate to topple the Italian, few appear capable of even getting close to the world number one.
