Jannik Sinner has just made tennis history by winning his 25th and 26th consecutive sets at ATP Masters 1000 tournaments.
Sinner beat Corentin Moutet 6-1, 6-4 in the third round of the Miami Open, where the Italian is the second seed.
He is indeed the highest seed remaining after ATP number one Carlos Alcaraz was beaten by Sebastian Korda at the same stage of the event.
Sinner now plays against American Alex Michelsen in the Miami round of 16, where he can extend his stunning record.

Jannik Sinner surpasses Novak Djokovic for most consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events
Sinner now has the most consecutive sets won at ATP Masters events in history, since that level of tournament began back in 1990.
He has overtaken the 24 of legendary figure Novak Djokovic, with Sinner now taking his tally to 26, last losing a set at that level in October 2025.
The Italian achieved the feat with a commanding performance against Moutet, who he defeated after one hour and 11 minutes.
He hit 23 winners to 19 unforced errors in the match, which he finished with a huge first serve points won total of 87%.
Sinner now turns his focus to home favorite Michelsen, with whom he has a 2-0 head-to-head record, after the latter knocked out Alejandro Tabilo.
The 21-year-old has also beaten Cameron Norrie and Mattia Bellucci in Miami, where he is one of several American men remaining.
Sebastian Korda, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe have also reached the last 16 of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

Michelsen is enjoying a superb run at the Miami Open, where he should receive plenty of support for his match with Sinner.
But most of the momentum is undoubtedly with the Italian, who will be full of confidence after breaking Djokovic’s record from 2016.
In fact, he’s also in the top five again for most consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events thanks to his run from Shanghai 2024 to Rome 2025.

His latest remarkable run stretches back to Paris last year, when he went 10-0, before going 12-0 at Indian Wells earlier this month.
Sinner has now continued his ruthless streak in Miami, where he started by defeating Damir Dzumhur 6-3, 6-3.
And history suggests that it won’t end against Michelsen, who Sinner beat 6-4, 7-5 and 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 at Cincinnati and the US Open respectively, both in 2024.
