Jannik Sinner is through to the quarterfinals of the Monte-Carlo Masters after coming through a tough test against Tomas Machac.
Sinner‘s record streak of consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events came to an end when the Czech star took the second in a tiebreak.
After conceding the set, however, the Italian quickly recovered and won the decider to emerge victorious and advance to the last eight, where he will face Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Though his incredible streak is now over, Sinner continues to make history on the ATP Tour, and has just matched a feat only three players in history have managed.

So far in 2026, Sinner is undefeated at ATP Masters 1000 events, having won both the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.
He kicked off his campaign in Monte-Carlo with a straight-sets victory over Ugo Humbert and a hard-fought win against Machac.

His latest win took his season record at Masters tournaments to 14-0, a tally only Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Pete Sampras have managed before, according to Opta Ace.
Since the inception of the Masters format, Sinner is also the fifth player to claim 19 consecutive wins at the level, joining Federer, Djokovic, Sampras and Rafael Nadal.
Jannik Sinner’s record against Felix Auger-Aliassime
Sinner has a winning record over his next opponent, Auger-Aliassime, and is on a four match winning streak against him.
Prior to the 2025 season, the Canadian had the lead in the head-to-head, having won their bouts at the Madrid Open and Cincinnati Open in 2022.
Last year, however, the two stars met four times, with Sinner coming out on top on each occasion.
Sinner defeated Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Cincinnati Open and again at the US Open later that summer.
He then beat him in the Paris Masters final, and most recently, in the round robin of the ATP Finals.
Sinner and Auger-Aliassime will now do battle for the seventh time for a place in the Monte-Carlo Masters semifinals.
