Jannik Sinner beat Casper Ruud 6-1, 6-2 to advance to his second consecutive ATP Finals final.
Sinner’s impressive week at the ATP Finals continued as he dominated his Norwegian opponent to book his place in Sunday’s showpiece match.
The Italian started his week off strongly, as Sinner beat debutant Alex de Minaur in straight sets in his opening match.
Sinner then beat Taylor Fritz, who he will face once more in this year’s final.

A final group stage win for Sinner against Daniil Medvedev secured his spot in the semi-finals, as he reached the last four without dropping a set.
The 23-year-old was a heavy favorite against Ruud, and it showed in a performance that saw him advance to the final against Fritz.
Fritz, a man that Sinner isn’t taking lightly despite beating him earlier in the week.
Jannik Sinner assesses Taylor Fritz’s ATP Finals performances
Speaking to Sky Sports following his semi-final victory at the ATP Finals, Sinner was asked just how much a win at his home tournament would mean.
The Italian was wary of getting ahead of himself, and heaped praise on to his American opponent.
“It would mean a lot but anything can happen in these kinds of matches,” he said.
“Today he played some unbelievable tennis at time against Sascha [Zverev].
“You know honestly throughout the whole tournament he’s been playing amazing, so let’s see what’s coming.”
Fritz beat Alexander Zverev 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, in the first semi-final to secure his spot in the final.

The 23-year-old went on to say how grateful he is to be competing at the latter stages of another big tournament.
“I’m just happy to be again in the position where I can fight for a very important title, for my career, and let’s see what happens,” said Sinner.
Can Jannik Sinner win the ATP Finals for the first time?
Sinner will head into Sunday’s final as the favorite, having beaten his opponent Fritz earlier in the week.
He also reached last year’s final in Turin but came up just short against seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.
A very rare defeat for the Italian in big finals.

| Win | 2024 | Australian Open | Grand Slam | Daniil Medvedev | 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 |

| Loss | 2021 | Miami Open | Masters 1000 | Hubert Hurkacz | 6-7, 4-6 |
Despite losing three of his first four big finals, Sinner won all five of his championship matches at the big tournaments in 2024, giving him an impressive 6-3 record overall.
If that wasn’t enough good news for the Italian, his head-to-head against Fritz should give him even more confidence.
- Win – 2024 ATP Finals RR (6-4, 6-4)
- Win – 2024 US Open F (6-3, 6-4, 7-5)
- Win – 2023 Indian Wells QF (6-4, 4-6, 6-4)
- Loss – 2021 Indian Wells R16 (4-6, 3-6)
Leading the head-to-head 3-1 and on an impressive winning streak in tour level finals, there is no reason why Sinner shouldn’t head into the final as a huge favorite.
But as is always the case, anything can happen, and with the performances Fritz has been showing so far this week, it would be dangerous to count him out.
Sinner and Fritz will play for the ATP Finals trophy on Sunday in Turin.
