Jannik Sinner has made it through to the French Open final for the first time in his career after a stunning win over Novak Djokovic.
The Italian has come into the tournament looking to make up for lost time, and he will now face Carlos Alcaraz in a blockbuster final on Sunday.
Sinner won the Australian Open in January but then missed three months of action, with Alcaraz making up some ground on him at the top of the ATP rankings.
He’s played like a man possessed at this tournament, and as of yet, nobody has got anywhere near beating him, with Djokovic now added to that list.
Sinner won in comprehensive fashion, claiming a straight-sets victory to leave Djokovic wondering whether Grand Slam number 25 will ever come.

Djokovic played his part in an entertaining match, but ultimately, he had no answer for the brilliance of Sinner.
The Serb must be sitting in the locker room pondering whether or not he can compete with the likes of Sinner and Alcaraz. However, aside from tonight, he’s looked in good nick at this tournament and can take heart from that.
Sinner had some kind words for his opponent after the win and claimed he had to work extremely hard for the victory.
He said on the court: “First of all, thank you so much for coming, for supporting us, me and Novak. That’s why we love to play. It was such a special occasion for me playing against Novak in the semi-final of a Grand Slam. It’s just amazing.
“And I had to step up, I had to play my best tennis I could, and I’m very happy how I handled the situations. This shows again, what a role model he is for all of us and especially for us young players and playing like this tennis, what he’s doing is incredible, so I wish him only the best for the rest of the season and yeah think we are all very, very lucky to see him playing such a high level tennis. So it’s amazing.
“He’s achieved so many things. He’s the best player in the history of our sport, and playing him here… It’s amazing. Of course, I try to, you know, not think about this, but, you know, before going on court, you feel the tension, you feel what’s coming against you.
“But again, you know, I was trying to prepare myself in the best possible way, trying to prepare you for every situation on the courts. I’m very happy and how we did that today.”
Sinner makes history against Djokovic
The Italian performer has been sensational at the French Open so far, and essentially, he’s going to take some serious stopping at Roland Garros.
Sinner is showing no signs of a player who spent three months not playing competitive tennis, and his match with Alcaraz looks like being a belter.
By beating Djokovic, Sinner became the youngest player since Ivan Lendl in 1982 to reach the final of eight ATP events in succession.
It highlights just how much quality he has on a tennis court and along with Alcaraz, it would appear that the pair are going to dominate the game for years to come.
