Jannik Sinner now has his most titles in a single season after beating Frances Tiafoe in the Cincinnati Open final.
Tiafoe named Sinner the favourite for the Cincinnati Open final, and the Italian answered the call as he won 7-6(7-4), 6-2.
There were fears Sinner could withdraw from the Cincinnati Open, but the world number one overcame his injury issues to lift the trophy.
Sinner now heads into the US Open in top form after his latest win, with the fourth and final major the year rapidly approaching.
Tiafoe can be proud of his Cincinnati Open efforts, having beaten the likes of Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz on his way to the final.

But facing the world number one was a different task entirely, with the Italian enjoying a stunning 2024 so far.
As per Tennis Channel, Sinner now boasts a 48-5 record for 2024, with his 90.6% win percentage the best on the ATP Tour.
Only three men – Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal – have finished a season with a 90+% winning percentage since the start of the ATP Masters 1000 format in 1990.
Can anyone stop Jannik Sinner at the US Open?
Sinner won’t be focusing on keeping up with the big three, but joining them in such a record would be a superb feat.
He will, however, instead be eyeying a lengthy run at the US Open, and one that ends with the prestigious trophy going his way.
And he is certainly in a fine position to do just that, with Sinner looking unstoppable more often than not this season.
The Italian began his Grand Slam year with victory at the Australian Open, and could now close it out in similar fashion in New York.
But after going through 2024 without a major win so far, defending champion Novak Djokovic will have grand plans to knock Sinner off his perch.
