Jannik Sinner has played just one ATP tournament in 2025, as he currently serves his three-month suspension.

Italian star Sinner won the Australian Open in January, defending a Grand Slam title for the first time in his young career.

Sinner was then suspended for three months upon the conclusion of his controversial doping case.

The 23-year-old is set to return to action at his home Italian Open in May, having missed the season’s first four Masters 1000 tournaments in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo, and Madrid.

Speaking for the first time in months, the number one ranked player on the ATP Tour has finally updated fans on how he is feeling.

Jannik Sinner says he is feeling ‘very well’ ahead of his return to tennis in Rome

In a preview of his exclusive interview with Sky Sport, Sinner revealed what he has done during his three-month suspension.

“I’m very well, I rested and I’m happy,” he said.

“I’ve done many different things, obviously, if I could have chosen, I would have played tennis, but I’m fine, and I’m not even thinking about it too much at the moment.”

While Sinner will no doubt have been disappointed to miss the last couple of months with suspension, he may have been relieved to see several of his biggest rivals slip up.

How has Jannik Sinner performed at the Italian Open so far in his tennis career?

Four times a champion at the Masters 1000 level, Sinner is yet to lift the title in Rome during his five previous visits.

His best effort came in 2022, when he lost to Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals, 6-7, 2-6.

Of the nine Masters 1000 events, Sinner’s performances in Rome rank eighth, as he has often struggled to show his best level on the Italian clay.
