Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have established themselves as the leaders of the new era of men’s tennis.

Fans were keen to see who would take over at the top of the sport following the extended period of dominance from Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Sinner and Alcaraz answered that call by winning the last five Grand Slams between them and they are ranked number one and two in the world.

They are set to enter the French Open as the favourites following their trips to the Italian Open final, and it remains to be seen if they will also contest the final in Paris on June 8.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz to break 19-year-old record at the French Open

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have shown they are capable of winning the biggest titles from a very young age.

This was the case in many elite players before them, such as Nadal and Federer, who were 19 and 21 respectively when they claimed their first Grand Slam titles.

With Sinner aged 23 and Alcaraz turning 22 on May 5, they are set to break a record held by Nadal and Federer.

At the upcoming French Open, Sinner and Alcaraz are set to become the youngest top two seeded players at a Grand Slam since Federer and Nadal at the 2006 US Open.

The Swiss Maestro was 25 at the time and went on to win the tournament for the third year in a row while Nadal, who was just 20, reached the quarter-finals.
