Jakub Mensik enjoyed a dream run at the French Open, making it all the way to the semifinals before falling to Alexander Zverev.

Czech youngster Mensik produced his best-ever Grand Slam finish in Paris, where the 20-year-old was the 26th seed.

His superb displays at the French Open helped him knock out the likes of Alex de Minaur, Andrey Rublev and Joao Fonseca.

But he was finally outdone by second seed Zverev, who Mensik has messaged ahead of his final against Flavio Cobolli.

After several battles in the French capital, he fell short of one more successful match against Zverev, who won their clash 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

The German now has a fantastic chance to claim his maiden Grand Slam title against Cobolli, over whom he has a positive head-to-head record.
