Jack Draper has been given another huge setback as a result of his French Open withdrawal.

Draper suffered a bone injury in his left arm last year, which kept him out of action for nearly six months.

The Briton has only played nine matches since then, with the latest of those coming when Draper retired due to a knee injury.

This knee injury has now forced Draper to withdraw from the French Open, which is now set to have a huge impact on his ranking.

Jack Draper will drop out of the top 100 after French Open withdrawal

Draper had the best clay court season of his career last year, reaching the Madrid Open final, Italian Open quarterfinal and the fourth round of the French Open.

The 24-year-old was already confirmed to lose 850 ranking points after withdrawing from tournaments in both Madrid and Rome, and Draper has now been impacted even more after pulling out of the French Open.

How concerned are you that injuries could disrupt Jack Draper from reaching his full potential?

This will take Draper down to 560 ranking points, which would currently position him as the world number 114.

Draper has not been ranked this low since August 2023, after another spell of time on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.

This is an even more dramatic drop for Draper, who reached his career-high ranking of world number four in June last year.

Jack Draper could now be at risk of missing the US Open

Not only will Draper now miss the French Open, but it could also impact him playing future Grand Slam tournaments.

Provided he is fit, Draper will be able to enter Wimbledon directly as the cut-off will be before he falls outside the top 100.

However, Draper could be in danger of not entering the US Open this year if he does not gain enough ranking points before then.

Draper is a former US Open semifinalist so could be in line for a wildcard, but will face stiff competition against the likes of former champion Stan Wawrinka, who is retiring this year, and American players.

It is being reported that Draper is gearing up to make his return for the grass court season and he will hope that he can return to form to avoid having any issues entering Grand Slams in the future.
