Jack Draper has indicated how he may perform at the Australian Open following a concerning fitness update.
The 22-year-old is coming off the best season of his career and he certainly has a chance to break into the top 10 in 2025.
But his success over the past 12 months came at a cost as Draper suffered from injury and cited fatigue during the campaign.
He is currently on the sidelines with a hip injury which meant Draper cancelled a week of training with Carlos Alcaraz before the Australian Open.
How does Jack Draper assess his fitness ahead of the Australian Open?
Jack Draper is battling to overcome his hip problem in time for the 2025 Australian Open.
The World number 15 will fancy his chances of a strong run at Melbourne Park following his best Grand Slam result by reaching the US Open semi-finals.
But Draper fights to get back to full health, he is worried he may arrive at the first Grand Slam at his best now his preparation has been impacted.
“In all honesty, I haven’t been able to train the way I wanted to. My preparation, probably, for Australia won’t be the best,” the British number one told Sky Sports.
“But that’s the situation in the sport you’ve got to roll with the highs and lows – and hopefully I give myself the best shot of playing well there.”

Is Jack Draper playing at the United Cup?
If Draper was unsure about his fitness at the Australian Open, he may have had more doubts about playing at the United Cup.
The action at Melbourne Park is set to commence on January 12, but the United Cup team event will get underway on December 27.
But on Thursday morning Draper has now announced his withdrawal from the team tournament but remains focused on competing at the Australian Open.
“As I work to get on top of my hip injury and get match fit, I have unfortunately been advised not to play in the United Cup,” Draper said via his social media accounts.
“While we are very positive about competing in the Australian Open this year, I know I won’t be able to jump straight into a packed schedule as I manage and strengthen my hip. I’m gutted as I was really looking forward to playing in the United Cup for the first time.”
