Jack Draper has once again demonstrated just how bright his future is, with the British number one reaching the Qatar Open final.
Draper did, however, lose at the very last stage of the Qatar Open to Andrey Rublev, and has fallen just short of a third ATP title.
He won in Vienna and Stuttgart in 2024, a year in which Draper also reached the semi-finals of the US Open.
The Briton could only follow that up with a fourth round exit at the Australian Open, although he was forced to retire hurt against Carlos Alcaraz.
Draper recovered superbly by reaching the final of the Qatar Open, but it was Russian ace Rublev who ultimately lifted the trophy.

Jack Draper pushing for more after reaching career-high ranking after Qatar Open
Fifth seed Rublev overcame eighth seed Draper 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 in Doha after two hours and four minutes to secure his 17th ATP Tour title.
The champion also won in Doha in 2020, and has now moved one spot up the rankings to ninth place with his latest success.

And despite losing, Draper has shot up four places in the rankings from 16th to 12th, a career-high for the 23-year-old.
Reacting to his new ranking, Draper wrote on his Instagram story: “We keep going for more. Thank you so much for all the support. It means so much to me!”

But Draper has withdrawn from Dubai after his lengthy run in Qatar, and has instead set his sights on Indian Wells and Miami.

And that isn’t a surprising move from the British number one, both in terms of the schedule and his injury record.
Concerning the former, Indian Wells and Miami are both ATP 1000 events, while only 500 ranking points are on offer in Dubai.
More importantly, however, regarding the latter, Draper only just made it all the way to the final in Doha, with a well-earned rest now on the cards.
And that is certainly a wise decision given his injury struggles in recent times, with Draper seemingly constantly forced to skip tournaments or withdraw midway due to various issues with his body or indeed with illness.
