Jack Draper will be back in action next week at the Washington Open after missing Wimbledon.
The Briton, now coached by legendary compatriot Andy Murray, was forced to withdraw from the Championships earlier this summer due to his recurring arm injury.
After being sidelined for a large portion of the 2025 season, Draper‘s injury struggles have continued in 2026.

But following another extended recovery period, Draper is set to feature in Washington, where he has been handed a difficult draw.

In the first round of the ATP 500 competition, Draper will take on home hope Alex Michelsen, whom he has never played before.
Should he advance past the American, he will play either Adrian Mannarino or another US player, Learner Tien.
Draper is on a third-round collision course with Taylor Fritz, whom he was scheduled to play in the opening round of Wimbledon before his withdrawal.
A win would see him potentially faced with Alex de Minaur in the semifinals; a player Draper has struggled against in the past.

De Minaur leads the head-to-head 4-1, with Draper’s sole victory in the rivalry coming at the 2024 US Open.

Prior to missing Wimbledon, Draper made one appearance during the grass swing, which came at the Eastbourne Open.
In what marked his first tournament under the wing of Murray, Draper reached the semifinals in Eastbourne.
En route to the final four, he did not drop a set, but was ultimately knocked out by Frenchman Ugo Humbert.
Ahead of the Washington Open, Draper has played just four hard-court events so far in 2026.
Those appearances on the surface came at the Davis Cup, the Dubai Tennis Championships, the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.
