Tim Henman has expressed his bemusement by something that Stefanos Tsitsipas did before the Australian Open.
The man who spent a number of years as Great Britain’s number one was speaking with Eurosport.
So, what has Henman had to say about Tsitsipas? We take a closer look…
What Tim Henman said about Stefanos Tsitsipas
The Greek player has now set up a fourth-round clash with USA star Taylor Fritz after coming through against Luca Van Assche.
Tsitsipas won 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 and came through without really breaking a sweat.
Henman noticed something that surprised him a bit with the 25-year-old’s service and he believes it’s something he’s been tweaking.

He told Eurosport: “It was bizarre. He was changing the pattern of his foot movement when he was serving. Originally he served with a platform where his feet don’t move, then in the first round he was sometimes moving his back foot up, but he was very erratic.
“But actually he has gone back to the platform serving and it looked like he felt much more comfortable, his first serve percentage was a lot better.”
Tsitsipas looking good for second-week stand
After being given a bit of a scare by Jordan Thompson in the second round, this was a walk in the park against Van Assche.
The top-ranked Greek player will now be hoping to keep pushing as he strives for a maiden Grand Slam title.
Tsitsipas was the beaten finalist last year as Novak Djokovic claimed a tenth men’s singles title at the Australian Open.
He reached the French Open final in 2021 and will be seriously keen to get over the line and life silverware this time.
Tsitsipas does have the game – and he has all of the shots to trouble the big players at any tournament.
Only time will tell, however, whether he’s playing well enough to down Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz and claim the title in Melbourne next weekend.
