Laura Robson has once again been chatting about Novak Djokovic, who has revealed two upcoming tournaments he is set to enter.

Given his age, he is unsurprisingly not worrying himself with many of the lesser events.

After all, his place at the pinnacle of men’s tennis is secure, and that lack of a busy schedule should allow him to be fresh enough for the majors which he will seek to dominate again.

But, which tournaments does Djokovic plan to enter? We take a closer look…

What Laura Robson said about Novak Djokovic

As a clear fan of his, as any real tennis aficionado devoid of tribalism would be, to see him featuring in high-profile tournaments has unsurprisingly excited her.

After all, the more of Djokovic we can see on court the better, as he seeks to maintain his impossible form from 2023 where he won three of the four Grand Slams, lost the final of the other, and enjoyed success in the ATP Finals too.

Well, Robson has sought to detail which tournaments the 36-year-old will be entering whilst also outlining the likely mentality he boasts despite the increased level of young challengers.

She told Tennis365: ‘He will probably view this as a new challenge. He has won everything for so long and all of a sudden you have Alcaraz, Sinner and a few of these other players challenging him week-in, week-out. I’m very happy that he has entered Indian Wells and Miami, he is probably going to play a little more than he previously has.

‘I know he has said he doesn’t enjoy being away from his family for too long, but if he is committing to playing Masters series events, it is a very good sign. It might not be a good sign for the other players that he is taking it very seriously still.

‘Look at his record. That tells you that until he retires, he is the favourite for every tournament enters.’

Djokovic managing his workload

Realistically, when you have won it all and as often as Djokovic has, you can start picking and choosing which competitions you want to focus on.

As such, these two must be part of a rigorous workload that the Serbian and his side will have meticulously planned out.

Naturally though, there will be a keen focus on this summer, with the Paris Olympics probably representing the superstar’s last chance at claiming the only coveted title he does not own: an Olympic Gold Medal.

Having been unfortunately dumped out of the Australian Open by eventual winner Jannik Sinner, questions have been asked about Djokovic’s ongoing capability to keep winning at the level he has set himself in recent years.

But as aforementioned, there are likely only two more things for him to achieve. That Gold Medal, and a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title to surpass Margaret Court and solidify his GOAT status.
