Following the conclusion of Indian Wells, the second half of the ‘Sunshine Double’ is set to get underway at the Miami Open.

On the men’s side, Jakub Mensik will be looking to defend his maiden ATP Masters crown, which he won last year by defeating Novak Djokovic in the final.

Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka will embark on her first title defence of the season, having won the tournament last year without dropping a set.

As well as the prestigious trophy, there will be plenty of prize money up for grabs at this year’s edition of the ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event.

The prize money on offer at the 2026 Miami Open

The singles champion in both the men’s and women’s tournaments at the Miami Open will walk away with a total of  $1,151,380 in prize money.

Runners-up will receive $612,340, while all four semifinalists in each event are guaranteed a cheque of  $340,190.

Being a Masters 1000 and a WTA 1000 competition, the winner will earn 1000 ranking points alongside the prize money.

The 1000 points helped Mensik crack the top 30 last year, and also helped Sabalenka keep a firm grip on the top spot in the WTA rankings.

Women’s wildcards for the 2026 Miami Open

The wildcard list for the 2026 Miami Open was released earlier this week, and 45- year-old Venus Williams headlines the pack.

As well as Williams’ return to the tournament, former champion Sloane Stephens will also be making an appearance.

Stephens won the event for the first and only time in 2018, when she beat Jelena Ostapenko in the final.

Other wildcard entrants include Taylor Townsend, Ashlyn Krueger, Jennifer Brady, Lilli Tagger, Emerson Jones and Darja Vidmanova.
