Alexander Bublik secured victory in the final of the 2025 Hangzhou Open.
Travelling to China as the number-three seed, Bublik dropped just one set en route to the final.
There, he met qualifier Valentin Royer, who had already beaten three seeds in Hangzhou: Andrey Rublev (1), Learner Tien (7), and Corentin Moutet (4).

Unable to pick up a fourth win over a seeded player, Royer fell to Bublik, 7-6, 7-6, in the Hangzhou Open final.
In doing so, Bublik took another step towards ATP Finals qualification…
Alexander Bublik is now three places away from a spot in the ATP Finals
Every year, the eight players who accumulate the most points in a calendar year qualify for the ATP Finals.
Bublik has never been to the tour finals before, but is in with a good chance of making his debut at the event in 2025.
| Rank | Name | Country | Points | Status |
| 1 | Carlos Alcaraz | Spain | 10,540 | Qualified |
| 2 | Jannik Sinner | Italy | 7,950 | Qualified |
| 3 | Novak Djokovic | Serbia | 4,180 | Currently qualifying |
| 4 | Alexander Zverev | Germany | 4,180 | Currently qualifying |
| 5 | Ben Shelton | USA | 3,710 | Currently qualifying |
| 6 | Taylor Fritz | USA | 3,465 | Currently qualifying |
| 7 | Lorenzo Musetti | Italy | 3,235 | Currently qualifying |
| 8 | Alex de Minaur | Australia | 3,145 | Currently qualifying |
| 9 | Jack Draper | Great Britain | 2,990 | Injured (Won’t play again in 2025) |
| 10 | Felix Auger-Aliassime | Canada | 2,705 | Not currently qualifying |
| 11 | Andrey Rublev | Russia | 2,410 | Not currently qualifying |
| 12 | Alexander Bublik | Kazakhstan | 2,370 | Not currently qualifying |
| 13 | Casper Ruud | Norway | 2,285 | Not currently qualifying |
| 14 | Karen Khachanov | Russia | 2,210 | Not currently qualifying |
| 15 | Holger Rune | Denmark | 2,190 | Not currently qualifying |
The Kazakh sits 12th, four places and 775 points out of the qualification spots, although the reality is he may be a lot closer than it looks.
With Jack Draper ending his season early due to injury, Bublik is actually just three places out from qualification.
In addition to Draper’s omission, there is a real chance Novak Djokovic chooses to skip the year-end finals, just as he did in 2024.

With that in mind, there could just be two players standing between Bublik and a place in the ATP Finals.
If the 28-year-old can continue to perform as well as he has so far in 2025, there’s no reason why he can’t make the trip to Turin in November.
ATP players with multiple title wins in 2025
Only one player in men’s tennis has won more titles than Bublik in 2025, and he just so happens to be the world number one, Carlos Alcaraz.
With four titles, Bublik slots in just behind the Spaniard in the list of multiple-time champions this season.
| Rank | Name | Number of titles | Titles |
| 1 | Carlos Alcaraz | 7 | French Open, US Open, Monte-Carlo Masters, Italian Open, Cincinnati Open, Rotterdam Open, Queen’s Club Championships |
| 2 | Alexander Bublik | 4 | Halle Open, Swiss Open, Kitzbuhel Open, Hangzhou Open |
| 3 | Luciano Darderi | 3 | Grand Prix Hassan II, Swedish Open, Croatia Open |
| T-4 | Jannik Sinner | 2 | Australian Open, Wimbledon |
| T-4 | Flavio Cobolli | 2 | Hamburg Open, Tiriac Open |
| T-4 | Denis Shapovalov | 2 | Dallas Open, Los Cabos Open |
| T-4 | Taylor Fritz | 2 | Stuttgart Open, Eastbourne International |
| T-4 | Felix Auger-Aliassime | 2 | Adelaide International, Open Occitanie |
Following his win in Hangzhou, Bublik will need to recover quickly before he makes the trip to Beijing for the China Open ATP 500 event.

Searching for title number five of 2025, Bublik will play a qualifier in the first round.
He is also entered into the doubles competition alongside Lorenzo Musetti, with the pair set to play the French duo of Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul on Thursday, September 25.
