Alexander Zverev has little time to celebrate his French Open title, with the grass-court swing now underway on the ATP Tour.

The French Open brought an end to the clay-court swing, with Zverev claiming the biggest trophy on offer in the French capital.

Zverev battled past Flavio Cobolli in five sets to lift the prestigious trophy, thus securing his first-ever Grand Slam title.

It was a superb achievement from the ATP superstar, but he may just be sent crashing back down to earth on grass given his all-time record.

Prove me wrong – Alexander Zverev will win multiple Grand Slam titles now

He's finally got his first!

After his success at the French Open, Zverev holds a 555-232 win-loss record across his career, placing him 30th in the all-time ATP list.

But the German drops all the way down to 153rd place for his success rate on grass, where he holds a 45-23 record.

Perhaps most significant is his ATP titles record, with none of his 25 victories having arrived on the surface.

In contrast, he has 15 hard-court titles and 10 clay-court titles.

Another very significant aspect of the 29-year-old’s grass-court shortcomings is his history at Grand Slams.

Zverev has now won the French Open, while he’s also reached the finals of the Australian Open and the US Open.

In stark contrast, the German has never made it beyond the fourth round of Wimbledon.

Alexander Zverev’s record on clay, grass and hard courts

Zverev clearly doesn’t love playing on grass, which is evident both from his success rate on the surface and his overall lack of appearances on it.

And while he’s a major asset on hard courts, he has just claimed his maiden Grand Slam title on the iconic clay of Philippe Chatrier.

He should now be motivated to achieve plenty more success in his already glittering career, with an improvement on grass perhaps on his agenda.

And that can start with Wimbledon, which he’ll enter with short-term confidence from Paris, but more long-term concern, particularly after losing to Arthur Rinderknech in round one last year.
