Holger Rune is desperate for stability after a difficult 18-months of injury woes and coaching upheaval.
The young Dane has been condemned to a player who has ‘potential’ rather than one who actually delivers.
Suffering further tribulation, Holger Rune’s doomed, yet nonetheless continued saga with Patrick Mouratoglou, finally came to an end this year.
In a semi-turnaround in form recently, Rune reached the semi-finals in both Cincinnati and Tokyo, before being on the receiving end of a Taylor Fritz thrashing in Shanghai.
Back with childhood coach, Lars Christensen, Rune has suggested he’s already seeing some improvements.

Holger Rune reveals greatly improved shot under new coach
Stripping things back to basics, Rune has started working with Lars Christensen, a former ATP top 50 player and someone he knows incredibly well.
Previously, Rune explained how new coach Christensen was ‘super disciplined’, with the 21-year-old keen to cultivate a different and more comforting atmosphere in his team.
Since, the Dane has added more comments, outline the specific shot Christensen has immediately managed to improve.
“I am happy to work with Lars [Christensen] again, Rune explained. “We have known each other for many years and have developed our very own tennis language together.
“During the past month, I have trained a few times with Lars when I have been in Denmark, and it has, among other things, had a really good effect on my serve.”
Where is Holger Rune playing next?
A rather lucrative few days in Saudi Arabia is on Rune’s agenda this week, with the youngster taking part in the ‘Six Kings Slam’ in Riyadh.
In what is becoming a new trend, Saudi Arabia is now hosting several tennis events throughout the year, with the WTA Finals set to make its debut appearance in the Middle East next month.
Andy Murray said ‘nobody cares about’ the Six Kings event after its rather flashy promotion video was published.
Alongside Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, as well as the imminently retiring Rafael Nadal, Rune is part of a Saudi sextet, set to rake in at the very least $1.5 million.
Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic complete the line-up, with the winner of the entire event earning $6 million – not bad for two days work!
