Jannik Sinner will soon begin his Wimbledon title defence at the All England Club, where he will enter as the heavy favourite.
Sinner clinched a maiden Wimbledon crown last year after defeating his rival Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
The Italian has fallen short at each major since then, however, with his most recent loss being a second-round exit at Roland Garros.
At the French Open, Sinner was beaten by Juan Manuel Cerundolo in a five-setter, while battling with physical issues in the brutal Parisian heat.
How concerned are you about Jannik Sinner’s physical issues going forward in his career?
Though there are still concerns around his ability to deal with certain conditions, former US Open finalist Greg Rusedski does not think the world number one will run into any such problems in London.

“I don’t think he’ll have the problem he had in Paris,” said Rusedski in an episode of ‘Off Court with Greg‘.
“Because the points won’t be quite as physical. And also, he went to Milan, I think he went to Juventus football club as well, and saw a lot of doctors, was sorting it out, was finding the balance to make it work right.
“And I don’t think you can say it’s just Jannik Sinner to win the title. Novak Djokovic is the other man in the picture. We talked about it at the end of last year, saying, which slam do you think Novak has the best shot at? Wimbledon.
“You know, there are lots of players thinking they can have a good run. Who would have picked Zverev to win the French Open? Almost nobody, because of the fact that we thought Sinner, Sinner, Sinner.

If not, what is?
“So you know, strange things can happen. And also with Zverev, he hasn’t beaten a top 10 player in a long time, and he still won the French Open.
“So you look at all those things, I think people are feeling confident, and also people will think: If I can push the match long, if it’s warm, I’ve got a chance against Sinner.
“But I’ve watched him in practice, and he looks very, very good. I’m waiting for Novak Djokovic to appear to see how those practice sessions are, but it looked like he got enough work done after Paris to be ready for this one.
“So don’t discount. Strange things have been happening this year as well.”

Though he is the reigning Wimbledon champion, grass is statistically Sinner’s worst surface.
Throughout his career, Sinner has recorded a win-loss record of 29-10 on grass, which is a win rate of 74%.
That compares to his win percentage on clay of 77% (83-25), and 82% on hard courts (246-54).
Outside of his Wimbledon triumph last year, Sinner has just one grass-court title, which he picked up at the Halle Open during the 2024 season.
