Greg Rusedski predicts who is going to be in the men’s Wimbledon final this year

Greg Rusedski has been an active figure throughout this Wimbledon, offering his verdict on all the outstanding talking points.

And there have been many.

A tournament wrought with upsets, excitement and injury, there has been so much to debate, and even more to enjoy.

However, we are now deep into the second week, and the Wimbledon finals are fast approaching.

As such, it is time for the big predictions…

Greg Rusedski makes Wimbledon final prediction

Although his particular prediction was short and sweet, it was also one which he assumed that the masses would agree with.

After all, the British-Canadian former tennis star penned it in such a way that suggested it was far from an unpopular opinion.

With Rusedski speaking about Emma Raducanu pulling out of playing with Andy Murray at Wimbledon late last week, he has not been afraid to voice his opinion on big matters.

But this is merely a simple prediction, which he wrote on X: ‘Anyone else thinking rematch of last year’s men’s final?’

Thus far, he seems on track to be correct.

Novak Djokovic gets a huge slice of Wimbledon luck

Whilst he has had to earn everything that has come during a long and supremely successful career, it cannot be argued that Djokovic has not had some fortune during this Wimbledon run.

After all, having only just slipped back into the world number two spot a week before the tournament due to Carlos Alcaraz’s underperformance at Queen’s rather than his own success, he ended up on the right side of the draw, clear of Jannik Sinner and his Spanish rival.

Alexander Zverev, who he should have met in the semi-finals on paper, was recently dumped out by Taylor Fritz, leaving his path to the final a cakewalk compared to previous years.

Not to mention that the only real challenge he has faced thus far was against Holger Rune, and even then Djokovic’s anger was with the Wimbledon crowd rather than any adversity conjured up by the 21-year-old.

And just when he was due a really tough task, facing the in-form Alex de Minaur, the Australian has since withdrawn due to an injury sustained in the dying embers of his quarter-final win.

Djokovic may well make the final, but if he does, it will be a real shock to the system when an in-form Daniil Medvedev or Alcaraz awaits, both of whom have had to fight hard to make it this far.
