Novak Djokovic’s pursuit of a record-breaking 25th major title will continue into Wimbledon following his third-round exit at Roland Garros.
Djokovic lost to Joao Fonseca in a thrilling five-set encounter on Friday, with the Brazilian becoming the first teenager to beat him at a Grand Slam.
Who is the most exciting ATP youngster right now?
There are so many to choose from…
The Serb suffered his worst finish at a major since the 2024 US Open, and his worst at the French Open since 2009.
At 39 years of age, Djokovic‘s time is running out to surpass Margaret Court and become the player, man or woman, with the outright most Grand Slam titles in the history of tennis.
But former US Open finalist, Greg Rusedski, thinks the 24-time major winner still has a great chance at the upcoming Wimbledon championships.

Greg Rusedski predicts Novak Djokovic’s chances at Wimbledon
Speaking in an episode of ‘Off Court with Greg‘, Rusedski said: “If Novak’s shoulder is right and he is physically where he needs to be, he is in the mix to win the title at Wimbledon.
“Don’t discount the 39 years young player! Health is your wealth and he is managing it brilliantly.
How would you rate Novak Djokovic’s chances of winning Wimbledon?
“I think he is in with a shot. To win Paris was a step too far. The draw was brutal. Even if he won that match he would have played Casper Ruud!
“I don’t think you can ever discount him. He is a great champion, he still can win majors. There’s still a little bit of fight in that bear.”

Novak Djokovic’s campaign at Wimbledon last year
Wimbledon has been Djokovic’s second-most successful Grand Slam over the years, after the Australian Open, having captured seven titles at the All England Club.
Last year, he came close to equalling Roger Federer’s record tally of eight by making the semifinals.
Djokovic beat the likes of Dan Evans, Alex de Minaur, and Flavio Cobolli en route to the final four, where he was faced with eventual champion Jannik Sinner.
Sinner defeated Djokovic in straight sets before going on to beat Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
This year, Alcaraz has already ruled himself out of Wimbledon, meaning Djokovic may only have to battle past Sinner on his way to the title.
