Gael Monfils has enjoyed a superb career so far, with the Frenchman wowing fans with his charismatic displays over the years.
Monfils doesn’t plan on coaching when he retires, which could come in the very near future for the 38-year-old.
Fellow legends Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Juan Martin del Potro have all called time on their careers in 2024.
But Monfils isn’t following in their footsteps just yet, with the exciting Frenchman currently 55th in the ATP Tour rankings, having once reached number six.
A 12-time ATP Tour champion, he ended his 2024 season with 25 wins and 21 losses, with Monfils beating Carlos Alcaraz at the Cincinnati Open.

Monfils is currently in London for the UTS Tour, but he has managed to find some time to carry out a Q&A on X, with one fan asking: “Do you manage to meet friends from your generation? [Jo-Wilfried] Tsonga, [Gilles] Simon, [Richard] Gasquet and the others?
The former French Open and US Open semi-finalist replied: “More with Jo and the other two a little less unfortunately.”
Gael Monfils’s record against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet and Gilles Simon
Monfils has just fallen short in his Grand Slam efforts over the years, with semi-final spots at the French Open and US Open in 2008 and 2016 respectively his best finishes.
In 2024, the Frenchman certainly gave it his all, but a third round finish at Wimbledon was the furthest he could go, with second round exits suffered elsewhere.
