So relentless is the tennis schedule that Jack Draper is back representing team GB at the Davis Cup just a few days after reaching the US Open semi-final.
Draper put in a captivating run to the reach the last-four at Flushing Meadows, eventually coming unstuck by the physicality of world number one Jannik Sinner.
It was a tall order to get the better of his Italian opponent who has been the standout performer throughout the year, but Draper can be proud of his efforts.
The demanding nature of his fortnight at the US Open eventually reduced Draper to vomiting on the court during his 7-5, 7-6(3), 6-2 loss to Sinner.
This raised concerns over whether the 22-year-old would be back fit and healthy in time to compete in Manchester this week against Finland, Argentina and Canada.

Is Jack Draper fit to play Davis Cup this week after demanding US Open run?
Jack Draper is beginning to reap the rewards of a strong commitment to his craft and now finds himself in the top 20 of the ATP rankings for the first time.
The Brit has never backed away from representing his country and notably put in a solid shift at the Davis Cup Finals last year.
Team GB’s group for this year’s Finals sees them pitted against a strong group, including 2022 champions Canada, a team which consists of the likes of former top 10 players Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov.
Following his impressive run in New York, Draper faces a race against the clock to return to fitness in time for these ties.
“After a short turnaround following the US Open, Jack will be joining the team in Manchester on Tuesday ahead of the first match on Wednesday,” a spokesperson for Draper said.
“Jack and his team are working hard to get fit and Leon [Smith] will take all this into account when he makes his team selection.”

All eyes on Draper at the Davis Cup
Draper claimed in 2022 that he is still a few years from his peak, so it is promising that he is already managing to reach the latter stages of big tournaments.
It was a run that offers a glimpse into the real capabilities of the youngster, but this week in Manchester represents a huge obstacle to overcome regarding his physicality.
It is not yet known which, if any, of the Davis Cup ties Draper will be selected for yet there is no doubt that many of the eyes will be on the British number one.
It is the first Finals since the retirement of Andy Murray and it is anticipated that Draper is set to take a leading role for his country moving forward.
