Roland Garros is right around the corner, and Frances Tiafoe will be looking to surpass his career-best finish in Paris from last year.
Following nine seasons of early exits, Tiafoe reached the quarterfinals at the French Open in 2025, having put together an impressive campaign.
The American did not drop a set en route to the last eight, with straightforward wins over the likes of Sebastian Korda and Daniel Altmaier.
Do you think Frances Tiafoe is good enough to win a Grand Slam if he fully commits?
But he ultimately fell to Lorenzo Musetti, who beat him in four sets before bowing out in the semifinals to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz.
This season, Tiafoe has not had the preparation on clay he would have hoped for heading into Roland Garros.

Frances Tiafoe discusses his clay-court season in 2026 so far
Tiafoe kicked off the clay swing at the Houston Men’s Clay Court Championships, where he picked up two wins.
The world number 21 then withdrew from both Monte-Carlo and Madrid, and managed to clinch just one victory in Rome.
He’s now in Hamburg and looking to finally get a string of good results under his belt.
“I’ve just been trying to get my body back right,” said Tiafoe in an interview with Tennis TV.
Can any of these four players stop Jannik Sinner winning the French Open this year?
Is there anyone else you think could be a threat to Sinner?
“I’ve had a few hiccups with my body, had to pull out of Monte-Carlo, and for Madrid I wasn’t quite ready.
“Then I came to Rome, and it’s hard when you take a little bit of time off and try to get going and put your best out there. At least I got a match in there.
“It’s tough to say, but now all eyes are on the French Open, so here (Hamburg) I want to get a few matches in me, good quality matches, and we’ll see where we go.”

Frances Tiafoe wins first match at the Hamburg Open
On Sunday, Tiafoe came out on top in his opening match at the Hamburg Open against 18-year-old home hope Diego Dedura.
Tiafoe, seeded eighth at the ATP 500 competition, beat the young German in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to advance.
Some big names are competing in Hamburg, including Felix Auger-Aliassime and Ben Shelton.
World number three Alexander Zverev recently withdrew from the tournament due to a back injury.
Should Tiafoe win his next match in Hamburg, he will have surpassed his second-round exit from last year.
